Confirmation 2023/2024Date of ConfirmationConfirmation for Enniskillen schools will take place on SUNDAY 21st APRIL 2024. The time for Confirmation is to be confirmed. We hope to have two celebrations again this year. All details will be confirmed. The Sacrament of ConfirmationThe Celebration of Confirmation is how we, as Catholics are "enriched with a special strength of the Holy Spirit” so that we can live " as true witnesses of Christ, more [ready] to spread and defend the faith by word and deed.” (Catechism of the Catholic Church, 1285). This important Sacrament completes our initiation into the Church, and the preparation for this special Sacrament is key to how we respond to Jesus’ call to “love one another”. RegistrationAll young people wishing to receive the Sacrament of Confirmation must register with the Parish. Once the forms are ready we will send links to the various school contacts we have who will disseminate the information. Advance notice, if your child was Baptised outside of St Michael’s Parish you will need a copy of their Baptismal Certificate. Preparation Sundays for St Michael’s Parish EnniskillenThese preparation Masses are for all Confirmation Candidates. Attendance at Sunday Mass on these dates is obligatory for children receiving the Sacrament of Confirmation. Pentecost CelebrationThere will be celebration Mass for all candidates and their families on the Feast of Pentecost - May 19th 2024. Details to follow. Daily Prayer for your ConfirmationO God, I pray that you give me a right heart, that I may come to know you in Jesus. Lead me to know the sinfulness of my own heart, and your great love for me, in Christ Jesus. Help those who teach me, to give me the teaching I need. Grant that, on my Confirmation Day, I may be ready to give myself to be your faithful soldier and servant to my life’s end; Through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen |
