About the 10.30am Choir at St Michael's Church

We sing at 10.30am Mass on the Sundays of School Term Time. We also sing during the Liturgies of Christmas, of the Easter Triduum (Holy Thursday, Good Friday and the Easter Vigil and Easter Sunday), and Confirmation, and other significant parish liturgies.

Description

This is a long-established mixed-voice adult choir. A group of about 20 voices. Founded by Canon Eddie Murphy and successively led by Sr Florence, Mgr J McGuinness and Mrs H Hamill.

Now under the musical direction of Paul Flynn.

Choir practice and Choir participation is suspended at this time due to Covid 19.

About the 6pm Vigil Choir at St Michael's Church

We sing at 6pm Vigil Mass on the Saturday evenings of School Term Time. We also sing during the Liturgies of Christmas, of the Easter Triduum (Holy Thursday, Good Friday and Easter Sunday morning), and Penitential Services, the November Remembrance Service, First Holy Communions and other significant parish liturgies.

Description

This is a ladies choir. A group of about 35 voices.

Founded by Kathleen Murphy and Maggs O'Reilly in the 1980s.

Now under the musical direction of Sharon Keenan-Kelly

A classical sacred repertoire
